The Jaguar brand devotes it´s distinct character to William (Bill) Lyons who founded SS, the Swallo Sidecar Company, back in 1922, at the age of just 21 years. Soon special bodies for the Austin Seven were added to the sidecar range. At the London Motor Show held in 1931 Lyons showed two highly elegant coupés, named SS 1 and SS 2, respectively, and as well created the famous slogan “value for money”.
