Maxwell for Sale - Antique / Vintage / Pre-war Maxwell Cars for Sale

Maxwell 1904 - 1925: Ben Briscoe had a sheet metal manufacturing plant and found Jonathan Maxwell to design him a car in order to get into the automobile business. Serious production started in 1905 and soon the production figures rose. This was mainly due to sporting successes and remarkable publicity stunts. Briscoe wanted to expand his imperium but failed and Maxwell continued the company (in Detroit) without him from 1912. From 1915 only one model, the 25 4-cylinder, was offered. A merge with the Chalmers car company did not lead to more success but Walter Chrysler did succeed in revitalizing the company and its cars. From the end of 1925 the Maxwells had Chrysler badges.
