Joseph Jarret Cole (1869-1925)
"Joseph Cole was the first Auto Manufacturer to get into flying, first to put his car engine in an airplane, first Auto Manufacturer to fly cross country. He tasted the success of flying but never attempted to produce planes. His first love was the Cole automobile and he spent his life focused on it."

"The Cole Automobile Club was formed in Indianapolis, Indiana, in May of 1993.We now have approximately 70 Cole automobiles identified." In it's best years The Cole Motors Company was only second to Cadillac in expensive cars category.
