The finale of the Vintage Sports-Car Club’s 2017 Events calendar saw The Winter Driving Tests, followed by the Club’s annual Race and Speed Forum take place on Saturday 2 December at Bicester Heritage.

All 75 Drivers rose to the challenging series of Tests set by Mark Elder and his local team of organisers who made the very best of the changing landscape at Bicester Heritage as the site continues to develop apace.  The Club wishes to thank Dan Geoghegan and his colleagues at Bicester Heritage for their continued support of the Vintage Sports-Car Club.

Whilst the Tests were taking place a handful of volunteer Doctors together with their small support team held Race Competition Medicals throughout the morning with the proceeds of almost £7,000 all going to charity. The Club wishes to thank the doctors for their continued support and Blue Diamond Services for their assistance with the new mobility test.

The Race and Speed Forum was held shortly after lunch and sparked the usual lively debate as the 2017 Season was discussed with experienced campaigners given their chance, along-side novices, to share their opinions. The unveiling of the 2018 Vintage Sports-Car Club Race and Speed calendar followed, with a welcome return to Goodwood as one of the many highlights.

As participants turned their wheels homewards, it was clear that the Vintage Sports-Car Club had enjoyed a year to remember and were looking forward to an exciting and packed calendar full of Events in 2018.

A great spread of cars made for an exciting competition with the clear winner being Charlie Martin in his Riley. Awards will also be going to Chloe Walker in a Hispano Suiza, Harry Hoskins in a Morris Cowley, Edmund Burgess in his Brescia Bugatti and Tony Stevens in a Trojan.

The Club’s next event will be The Measham Night Rally, taking place over the weekend of 20 to 21 January, based at Bruntingthorpe Proving Ground in Leicestershire.
