A Chevy PickUp Mystery? (upd. Hotchkiss 19.. ?)

chevy mystery_300A recently discovered small orchard find not too far away from Tours in France. Most postwar stuff but this one we would like to ask your opinion about. At first sight we started looking for Chevy, than found it looked like GMC as well. But we not really succeeded convincing ourselves. Windshield wrong. Wipers wrong. Heavily modified maybe? Maybe postwar after all? Too many question marks? Can you help?  (photos R. Prochasson)

Update seems, most comments agree on a postwar Hotchkiss truck, like this one. Now we still have to solve the issue with the post-war Salmson.

I have no idea of the make but by the design of the front mudguards, valen ce,bumper and the wipers being bulkhead mounted,my guess would be post war.

I think it looks morwe like a Reo Speedwagon or a Mack (also built by Reo) around 1838-9 vintage.

Rather than a prewar GMC it's a post war Hotchkiss PL20 or PL25 - with characteristic French style for the era. The 2.3 litre 4 cylinder gasoline engine was rated at 60 hp @ 3000 rpm and the model designation denotes a payload of 2.0 or 2.5 tons.
