American or Dutch? The Lincoln Body Mystery

When in doubt, ask the experts! Dutch classic car dealer Lex van Lammeren has just acquired a fine
1928 Lincoln Model L Dual Cowl Phaeton. The Lincoln has
a body tag that shows it was made by famous Dutch coach builder Schutter & van Bakel in Amsterdam. But to be honest, there is very little difference between with a factory supplied body. In fact the only difference we can spot is the rear of the hood which bends forward instead to the rear. We did find an advert by Schutter & van Bakel for
a 1930 Lincoln which, apart from the rear end, also differs very little from the original. Any Lincoln expert out there who can tell us more about this practice or more specifically about chassis number 57919?
As can also be seen from the body tag, the Lincoln was originally imported into The Netherlands and especially built for a Mr. M. van Marwijk Kooy from De Bilt in Holland (pictured above with his family). The Lincoln was given
the licence number L-3769. As it stayed in Holland until 1993, would it be possible to track down other owners of this magnificent Lincoln? Who can help? (photos courtesy
