Ceirano at Bleiche Trophy ( upd. 3 litre CS 'SCAT')
Recently we were contacted by Andreas Honegger, son of an industrial family not too far from Zürich. The little village Wald in the old days was known as the 'Manchester' of Switzerland where textile industries bloomed in the still young twentieth century. From this time (1918) is the only photo that remains of this fine Ceirano, showing the family's chauffeur and Oskar and Ernest Honegger in the rear seat enjoying the scenery. Andres explains the family had also textile factories the nearby town Bergamo in that time. Due to that cars like Ceirano and Itala were 'common 'in the family. Zurich-Bergamo must have been a quite interesting journey back then,
check the route. It was maybe this photo that Andreas inspired to organise a classic three day touring event:
the Bleiche Trophy. We hope we can produce some more knowledge about this specific Ceirano.

The Ceirano you have there is a 'CS' Model which was a slightly modernised Edwardian SCAT of about 3 litres with side valves. About 6 of this model are currently on my record of the Ceirano register worldwide. There are about 3 Ceirano owners in Switzerland currently, but all are of the more modern S150 model made from 1924 onwards.
Hope this helps
