About Quiz # 196 > 1911 Beckmann

Definitely too hard. No winner! Not even one answer that came close! Only Lars Göran Lindgren (jurymember) recognised the car from the magazine Veteran & Sportsbil No 6-2006... Somebody said that the hint Western Europe was unclear, but when you search the web for images you get a clear picture of where Western Europe begins and ends. Anyway Beckmann is German. They existed from 1900 tot 1926 until it was swallowed by Opel. Rune Aschim from Norway only recently acquired the remains in Denmark. Despite the fact the car was extremely rare in Scandinavia (three went to Norway, three to Sweden) he managed to find the mid section of one of those cars and will fit it to his Beckmann "Sometimes you need a little luck." We think that is a Norwegian understatement. The constructor/manufacturer of these cars was competitor in the 1906 and 1907 Herkomer Konkurrenz. Is anybody aware of other Beckmann cars which are still around? \n This e-mail address is being protected from spambots.
