Quiz ArchiveAbout quiz #201: 1912 Hudson Model 33![]() Before publishing the results of this one we left for a safe place somewhere on the globe and plan to stay there a while. Except for the winner we are not going to make friends... Almost every soul who sent in on this quiz thought his answer to be the best thinkable in the world and did not omit to claim victory with an undertone of threat! Woe to all minus one of them. Despite their brilliance and knowledge again they didn't bite the bullet, yet missed it by milliseconds, leaving it to the next set of teeth! We are not talking about the half dozen who claimed the car to be a 1911 Cadillac as our vehicle is of humbler descent. We had no less than four brave men who were spot on: jurymember Mark Dawber, Ian Hayhurst, Lars-Göran Lindgren, Dick Trenk. They all correctly claimed 1912 Hudson Model 33. So that was not enough to win... Most of them added lots of technical details which are easily on the web available once you have decided which car it is. So we don't lean on that knowledge a lot. However three men referred to the Mile a Minute Roadster: Dick, Peter and Roger. It was only Roger Bowers who laid the link to the fifties Hudson Hornet personality in the recent Disney feature Disney/Pixar feature 'Cars' (your Editor has seen the movie 5 times, it's fab !!!). Basically we think Roger is the winner just because of that extra. Applause! However... in the end we decided that Peter Ransom and Dick Trenk were so close that we thought it no more than righteous to honour all three. Congratulations to you three.
