About Quiz # 294: 1926 S.A.C.A.

Your editor had a walk over this time. Not one good answer on last week’s quiz. Not even from our distinguished jury members! And we can’t blame you as this one was really tough nut to crack. It is a S.A.C.A. made in Etterbeek, near Brussels in Belgium. They were in business from 1924 until 1927 and they modified Ford’s Model T by lowering and lengthening the frame and fitting front-wheel brakes. They worked with second-hand as well as new Fords. SACA also produced trucks on chassis supplied by Dyle & Bacalan with engines converted to run on producer gas. When shown the picture of this ‘modernized’, Model T expert Bas de Voogd said that with the light fabric body and a lowered and lengthened chassis the SACA must have been a very good driver. See you all next week with -arguably- an easier quiz.
