About Quiz # 326: 1932 Packard Twin Six

"Ask the man who owns one." We did, and he confirmed that last week's quiz was a Packard. So far, so good, and we had lots of answers telling us the same. But that was not enough. We showed you only the engine, which if you counted right, was obviously a V-12 and that narrowed the model range down quite a bit. We gave you as a clue that only 311 of this body style were made, so with a little bit of research you could have come to the same conclusion as this week's winner Brendan Walsh did with his short and to-the-point answer that stated: "The car is a 1932 Packard Ninth Series Twin Six model 905. The engine is a 445.5 cubic inch V12 producing 160bhp at 3200rpm. 311 were built on the 142.5inch wheelbase. (238 of the model 906 were built on the 147.5inch wheelbase the same year, including Individual Custom cars). This answer, including the phrase "1932 Packard Twin Six, ninth series 905 model", was exactly what we wanted to hear. Well done, Brendan! The T-shirt will be on its way.
