What is it? # 103 (UPDATE: 1932 Datsun )

It's a cliche to say that you gave us a hardtime. OK, but still you did. All these theories about DAT's Datsons and Datsuns. About Nr. 1 's Type 10 Type 11, Type 91 and whatever. About 1930, 1931, 1932, 1934... Tons of incredible links and great photos came in for which we awant to thank you. In the end we decide that what was written on the Nissan approved model would be the winning specs.: 1932 datsun Nr. 1 ... We decided to skip the Type. Anybody who came up with Datsun and the year 1932 we consider a winner. Congratulations: Jon Baker, Jim Davis, Bryan Norfolk, Paul Linster, Roger Bowers, Rutger Booij, Ced Pearce and Fredi Senn (please send your addrsss and you'll get the PrewarCar badge sent home. Now there was one competitor (Bas de Voogd) who says he can prove that the depicted model is a 1931 DatsOn instead of a 1932 DatsUn. He is of course most welcome to tell his story and if right we wil bring the sad news personally to the Nissan management, but it will not affect these results. Earlier Text: It is a 3 inch silver plated model. It is a very well known model. And it is made by an even more well known manufacturer. Which does not automatically mean that you know about the connection between the one and the other... Well this sounds like a terrible riddle and it is. Unless you know. Still we don't want to make things too difficult, we have been making you competitors feeling miserable lately with questions that were almost impossible too solve. Not so with this one. When you are not narrow minded and have an open eye for the world as a whole and really know about the big carmakes that came into business before Pearl Harbour, then you will find this one. So just tell us 1 the Make 2 the Year 3 the Model. When we have more than 1 winner, every one of them will get the
brass/enamel PreWarCar badge. So send your answer before Monday 15 March to
