What is it? # 115 (Upd.: 1939 DKW F9 prototype)

Read the full Update >>> here (click). Winner: Bart Oosterling.
It is an ancient, lonely forerunner in certain aspects of modern mass production. Not because it is a front wheel drive. Even in that era FWD was far from unique. It is much more because of the materials that have been applied. Think about that... Yet even without knowing all that, the best part of our European audience will recognise this well know design in less than a glance. Later examples crossed Europe's autobahns in reasonable numbers up to the early seventies. But as always in our little torturous quiz, ....Beware!!! Please take into account that the rearbumper and wheels are not original. And please click the photo for a zoom-in. Last fat hint: like with any old car, it pays to bring a magnet when you think you have found one like this... There is an old Dutch expression saying: there is a poisonous adder hiding in the grass. This looks like...., and yes it is..., but..... So.... that is your little problem this weekend. Your response should come up with: 1 the Make 2. the Year 3. the Type 4. an interesting aspect of the coachwork. May the best man or lady win! For details see next page.
