What is it ? # 126 (UPDATE III & II & I : 1893 Irgens)

Update III : a second intersting e-mail from Henning Rugsveen came in with added precision: >>>"The foto are of the horse carriage which Jacob Irgens built (Pauls brother) Paul monted his engine from 1878-1880 in the carriage and the year is 1898. I have drawings of the motorcar from 1883, you can see it on my homepage. The engine itself is from 1878 and is to be seen in the Tekniska museet in Oslo (OldmarineEngine.com).
Update II by Henning Rugsveen:"The Irgens car got on the road in 1898, and the man behind the stearing pin is Jacob Irgens, brother to Paul Henning Irgens the cars designer. The engine was built in 1880 and was used in a boat for several year until it was monted in one of his brothers horse carriage.. The year 1883 he should build a “taxi” for the exhibition in Kristiania (Oslo) but he did not get any money to build the car. So, and who am I. I am Paul Henning Irgens grand-grand son, I am 58 years old and live in Sweden. I have built my own car named “Irgens TR Seven” it looks like a Lotus Seven."

Update I : your knowledge is frightening! Still only very few came up with all the really perfect facts. The most interesting Make of car that came in but which was not correct was: Siegfried Marcus from Austria. Two competitors ended really close: Kjetil Langsaether & the team Bas de Voogd/Rutger Booy. They both produced: 1. Norway
2. Year the project was stopped : 1883
3. Designer of the project: Paul H. Irgens

So far the Dutch team had advantage as Kjetil is from Norway... However the Dutch team crashed after a slip of the pen on question 4...

4. In which year the car finally came to the road? : >>> 1893 Congratulations: Kjetil Langsaether ! You have acquired official Jury-status! (photo collection Bue David Andersen) EARLIER TEXT: It's a pre 1900 car. It was almost ready to roll years before Benz! Almost... Due to a lack of money the project was stopped and re-engaged only years later. That's all we are going to say to you. All we want to hear from you was the 1. Country where this car has been developed 2. The Year project was stopped. 3. Designer of the car 4. When came the car finally to the road. Competitors from the country where this car was made will have a disadvantage to others with an equally good answer. Yes, you may shout&yell at us, but it will not make any difference. Rules:

Paul Irgens was the brother of my grandfather. The man in picture is not his brother.
We who have the Irgens name are all related to each other. The name was "invented" by the Danish king Christian lV about 1630.Before that it was Iürgens.
I ave once promised to send you more information. These days I am recovering from a rather serious operation, but I shall talk to my older brother in the USA who knows more about our family.
