What is it? # 40 (UPDATE: Sizaire-Berwick)

No less than 6 (!) of you came up with the right make of car: Sizaire-Berwick. Fewer were very accurate with the year. This one was made in 1919 and has a 4,6 Litre sidevalve engine, possibly a type 25/50. Then there was one man who also could learn us a little bit more the RR incident! Sizaire-Berwick came later with the RR design radiator, but -contrary to RR- did register the design. In fact Rols-Royce had to buy (!!!) their own radiator design from Sizaire-Berwick at GBP 25,000 GBP..... Carleton Hughes congratulations !! More on Sizaire-berwick at Gazoline.org and in The Automobile, issue July, 1995. (photos courtesy Derek Durst) EARLIER TEXT: In order to win the infamous PreWarCar T-shirt, we want to hear from you: what's the make, year and maybe even the type of car we are showing? It's not very well known, though one of the founding fathers became quite well known with another make he started in 1905. Anyway the start of this car was not easy. The pre-WW I radiator had a very elegant design, but with too great a similarity to the design of the radiator of a Rolls-Royce. After protests from that side they changed the design to this slightly V-shaped alternative. Let's hope we have less discussion than last week. Please send your answer before 23.59 hrs.
