What is it? # 42 (UPDATE)

(UPDATE)Some of you guessed De Dion-Bouton and Darracq. And, yes there are similarities (especially the hood is deceiving), but this is a Panhard Levassor. This hood shape was a trendy design item that is to be seen with many French cars of that era.
The year is not the simplest part. Guesses reached from 1897 thru 1904. The studded ballontyres give clue that this must be a post 1897 car as PL introduced these in 1898. Earlier this car was dated as 1897 but more recently as being an 1899.
Engine is a 2 cyliner, watercooled 6 HP. This water was also employed for heating warm water botles under the seats! Gearbox was 4 + Reverse. Topspeed estimated at 34 mph.
This one was a very close finish. So it came to the details. After carefull study of all details that came in we decided that Roger Fields naming the quite modern 4 speed + reverse gearbox is what made him win....!!! Roger congratulations!
