The right answer to Saturday's contest nr. 7 was: 1936 Pierce Arrow type 1601. Winner Leif Holmberg from Sweden, congratulations! The car in the middle is a 1933 Cadillac/LaSalle(thank you Richard Spiegelman & Terry Boyce!!!) and the car on the left a Lincoln K-series(thank you Eduard Hattuma). We received a friendly email from the president of the
Pierce-Arrow Society confirming the car's identity:
Yes. I can, positively, identify the car. I know the car, its former owner and its history for the past 30+ years. The car is a 1936 Pierce-Arrow Model 1601 Convertible Sedan. It was owned and driven for many many years by Pierce-Arrow Society member Kermit T. (Ted) Fosgate. He drove the car for 250,000+ miles . . . maybe more. The only other restored 1936 Pierce-Arrow convertible sedan belongs to Anthony Zappone. Kindest regards, Marec Hamburger (photo collection editor, click to ENLARGE).
The original question: We think it's a 1932 Caddy, do correct us if we are wrong. But this is NOT the question. It's about the
CCCA car on the right. The best answer, due to be in before Monday 11 March, 23.59 hrs. Central European Time, will win the infamous PreWarCar T-shirt, that is becoming a collector's item.
