What is it? # 76 (UPDATE: 1920 Cleveland)

No winners this week! Was it too warm? Too cold? Too many events last weekend? Far too few clues? Fill us in if you like. In fact we had only one close answer in. From jury member Lars-Göran Lindgren, he almost had a bullseye with 1921 Cleveland type 41. The actual black Cleveland is a 1920 Cleveland Six 'valve in head'. Thank you Lars-Göran ! Visit his superb Brass Cars in Sweden collection. It will make you understand why he knew...
EARLIER TEXT: It is a full colour photo of a black & white automobile. Not many people remember that tyres used to be white in those early days. And very soft. To prevent the pure rubber tyres form wearing too fast carbon/graphite(?) was added to the rubber compound. Since then tyres are black. Maybe whitewall tyres have been invented as a kind of replica white tyres. Anyway, take a look under the hood of this very rare American car. Then scratch the back of your head and click the photo for a larger view of the car. Then scratch again, take into account that we took out the radiator badge and then write your answer (1.Make, 2.Year 3.Type) before Monday 25 August to \n This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. The best answer will win the infamous PreWarCar T-shirt. (photo by editor ; Wheels & Wings / Netherlands)
