In fact we had only one close answer in. From jury member Lars-Göran Lindgren, he almost had a bullseye with 1921 Cleveland type 41. The actual black Cleveland is a 1920 Cleveland Six 'valve in head'. Thank you Lars-Göran ! Visit his superb Brass Cars in Sweden collection. It will make you understand why he knew... EARLIER TEXT: It is a full colour photo of a black & white automobile. Not many people remember that tyres used to be white in those early days. And very soft. To prevent the pure rubber tyres form wearing too fast carbon/graphite(?) was added to the rubber compound. Since then tyres are black. Maybe whitewall tyres have been invented as a kind of replica white tyres. Anyway, take a look under the hood of this very rare American car. Then scratch the back of your head and click the photo for a larger view of the car.
