What is it ? # 84 (UPDATE: Fiat 501 Spider 1924 )

UPDATE: About everybody agreed on the car being a Fiat. So that was not the problem. Also the type '501' was not the problem. Surprisingly only a few competitors named 'Spider' as the type of coachwork. Fear to fail with the wrong word? Anyway to make a chance to win this weeks T-shirt you had to come up with the right or closest year. We received all years from 1919 untill 1926. Most competitors did not have the courage to gamble for one specific year and gave a timewindow. The shape of the fenders, the availability of frontbrakes, the position of the headlights brought the car near to 1925. But it was not 1925. The illustration comes from an advert in the French l'Illustration of 6 September 1924. The text in the ad says translated: "10 HP Spider presented at the most important Concours d'Élegance of the year organised by l'Auto." The youngest competitor Raul Valkila (19) concluded after a few lines about fenders, etc. with the most precise answer to questions 1,2 & 3 : Fiat Tipo 501 from 1924 . Congratulations Raul Valkila of Finland! Your second win!! (ad from collection editor) EARLIER TEXT: It's a Cabriolet. Or a Roadster. Or a Spider. Or a Speedster. Or a Convertible. When you choose the right word, you already have the right timewindow/continent combination. We are not going to give you a lot more on this one as it has been mass produced by a still existing make. To create your chance to win the PreWarCar T-shirt send us: 1. The make 2. The year of production 3. The Type. We will judge in that order. Only the best answer will win. And don't think you don't have chance. It's still less than 100 competitors every weekend. Before you send your answer to \n This e-mail address is being protected from spambots.
