Whatisit? # 66 (UPDATE: 1927 Chiribiri )

UPDATE: This one obviously was to hard to crack. Not one sender came close to the truth. It is always hard to decide which hints to put in and which not. The # 66 car is a Chiribiri (1910 - 1928) , built around 1927. Very rare indeed. An earlier Chiribiri, -a 1923 type Monza- was raced by Tazio Nuvolari at the forgotten track of Sitges Terramar, near Sitges in Spain. Brush up your knowledge on Tazio at TazioNuvolari.it. Next Saturday new chances. (photo courtesy Hans van Ingen Schenau) EARLIER TEXT: It's made in the rich twenties tradition of high-tech European "small-blocks". Could it be an Alfa Romeo? A Riley? A Salmson? A ...? Who can tell? One thing is sure, it's a lovely early Double Overhead Camshaft (click for detail) which betrays the manufacturer's apetite for speed & medals. And yes, this make had a few victories (mainly in the 1500 cc class) during it's short presence on the market. This time telling us the make alone could win you the infamous PreWarCar T-shirt. Only if necessary the year and type will produce the one winner. You should send your response before(!) 19 May to This e-mail address is being protected from spambots.
