WHO is it ? # 50 (UPDATE)

No one could say with sertasinty who it is. But Chris Paulsen, quite knowledgeable in the bras era says it should be Geronimo or Sitting Bull. Anyway, he was the only one who additionally claimed that the car is a 1907 Pope Toledo. Check this photo at the 2001 AACA Hershey meeting (AACA.org) and you won't beleieve your eyes! For all photos of that meeting: click here. Congratulations Greg ! Then we had the second category 'Fiction' with two talented writers in. In the end the prize went to David Coco. See Read More for his short 'gag'. (photo collection editor; click to Enlarge) "1910. And Chief Pullenhope was feeling cranky. His 40 horses were not to be found, and his favorite, Sparky, may have been lost forever. It all started with the beads. Damn the white man and his damn beads. "Here; a few beads for your land; here, a few beads for your horses; oh, we took it all? well, then, you can have this wonderful 1910 Pushinpull automobile, and we'll call it even. Whadda ya say, Red Man?" So the trade was made. The Chief had started it once, but could not get the hang of feathering the carb. And every time someone suggested "lift the bonnet", he raised his war club... The Chief's real problem was keeping air in the tires, as can be seen by the 10 valve stems on each wheel."

another farce (weak to be sure, but so is the stage photo!!!) by David Coco

EARLIER TEXT:
Big Chief says: "Better enjoy car than enjoy gun. Better enjoy gas than enjoy blood. Better enjoy the way of the road than the way of the warrior. Read my lips. Two big wars after me a white music man and squaw will spend one week in bed (Web.Mit.Edu) and sing: "Make love, no war.... and then they will kill the music man." Sorry for all that but # 50 is making us a little moody. Of course we have no idea what this chief may have been talking or thinking about, but his stature and the way he is looking into the lens is saying a lot: "Your world of modern man has no secrets for me. I can do what you can do. I can go wherever you can go. Let's try to see each other as equals. Let's try to live in peace on this Godgiven Earth." This week we have two prizes. One for Facts, one for Fiction. Fiction is free as you like as long it's no more than 500 words. With the Facts alternative we will look 1. for the right name of the chief (please bring your own evidence as we don't know who it is). 2. for the right make of car. 3. for the the right year. Please send your answer before 3 February to This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it and please add # 50 in the subject line. Enjoy your weekend!
