RM AUCTIONS TO OPEN GERMAN OFFICE
LONDON, England (27 October, 2009) -Preeminent international auction house, RM Auctions, is delighted to announce the opening of a new European office in Hamburg, Germany in early 2010.

Set to open on 15 January, 2010, the new office – RM’s second in Europe – is part of the company’s continued global expansion, which will also see the addition of a new auction event in Monaco added to the 2010 auction calendar.

Annette Abaci, a Consignment Specialist currently working in RM’s London office, will return to her native Germany to open the Hamburg office and build upon the company’s existing German-speaking client base.

“Over the past three years, RM Auctions has established a prominent presence in Europe hosting record-breaking sales in Maranello, Italy and London, England,” says Max Girardo, Managing Director, RM Europe.

“The opening of a new office in Hamburg is part of our European expansion strategy to increase our presence in important markets, delivering the dedicated client service for which we are known,” he adds.

A passionate, lifelong auto enthusiast, Annette Abaci joined RM Auctions in 2006, assisting with the opening of RM’s first European office in London. Since joining the RM team, Annette has been integral to the organization and success of the company’s record-breaking Ferrari Leggenda e Passione sales at the Ferrari headquarters in Maranello, Italy, along with the distinguished ‘Automobiles of London’ event in the UK. For the 2009 Automobiles of London event, Annette was responsible for consigning a superb single owner collection of veteran motor cars, considered some of the very finest examples of these early automobiles, and all of which are eligible for the London to Brighton Veteran Car Run. With post-secondary degrees in economic science and mechanical engineering from the University of Hamburg, Annette initially worked part-time at Mercedes Benz and EMA GmbH during her academic studies. She continued with EMA GMbH (a milling company specializing in high precision production) after graduation and was promoted to CEO several years later, purchasing the company in 1993. After building this company sevenfold, Annette decided to follow her passion for vintage automobiles, selling the company in 2003 and joining a German classic car dealership.

A dedicated collector of classic cars, Annette is most passionate about prewar and German cars and actively participates in the hobby through various events. Earlier this year, she drove her racing-green 1950 Jaguar XK120 Alloy in the 2009 Silvretta Classic Rally Montafon, with plans to participate in next year’s famed Mille Miglia event.

Annette is fluent in German, English, French, and Turkish.
