What's the Barn/Shed/Garden Find of the Year?

Barn Find of the Year
Pessimists keep on saying that it must now really nearly be over. And that the end of classic cars being found in barns, sheds and lock-ups, front gardens and old garages must surely be near. But it doesn’t seem to be the case for this perhaps most romantic of subjects in the classic car scene. Books have been written on the subject, some magazines thrive on them and there are now several websites dedicated purely to these finds. Barn finds are now often more popular then fully restored cars, and they can fetch more money too. And do they really dry up? It doesn’t seem to be the case. Historians, dealers, privateers and auctioneers keep on coming up with finds every time again.

Earlier this month a nest of British classics was found in a Sussex field, looking rather sorry for itself. But among them a rather nice baby blue Sunbeam Alpine with Harrington coupe body (above, one of approximately 110 made), as well as not one but two Jensen CV8s, some Scimitars and more. Oh - the US of A remains the barn find country. Some of the cars from from the last couple of weeks include this Bizzarrini with under 9,000 miles on the odometer; an Opel Kadett Rallye in Kansas, a very crusty Mercedes 190 SL in Ohio and a Jet-powered Ford Pinto in Michigan… Oh, and did you hear about the old Formula One cars in France last week?

Now. As the end of the year nears, we wonder: what do you consider to be the best Find of 2017?

If you got the space, I got the time...

Harrington Alpine or possibly their TR4/4A
AC Greyhound or Aceca
Desirable whatever it is!
