Ever seen the double chevron like this on an early 2CV ?

Ever seen the double chevron like this on an early 2CV ?The ulta low mileage 2CV that was sold at Artcurial at Retromobile was showing this intricate detail on the C 'post'. We wonder if this is a known addition, or that is was added by one of the previous owners. The car was delivered new in 1965 to to  Harrah's Automobile Collection in Beverley Hills, Californis  and is said not have covered more than 116 miles since.

DKW with a unclear history

DKW with a unclear historyDear readers,

After three years of owning the DKW F91 Karmann Kabriolett that I bought in Lissabon-Portugal I still know little history of this particular car. I bought it from a F. Almeida Antonio, a curious colector of some 300 classics. He restored the car and brought it on the market in early 2009. Antonio bought the car from a retired german guy, a Mr. Peter Friedrich Runte he lived with his wife and two children in Cascais and Peter owned the car some twenty years, from 1984 untill 2003 or 2004. But before 1984 there is no history, besides a so called 'Registro de Propriedade' dating 8th of May 1954. First owner is hard to read on this document but I try: it is a Baptista Co elho and he lived on the G.Alexandre Herculano 43 Lisboa. My question is if someone knows the man or the family? He bought the car and I would like to know where the car went in those thirty years before Peter Friedrich Runte bought the car. Unfortunately Peter died last year and when I made contact with him he was already very sick and in and out the hospital. But his brother from Germany who cleaned out the house in Cascais, after Peter passed away, found a few photos of the car. They are taken in the early 80's when the car still was the original black colour and had the numberplates FB-20-53. Maybe someone in Portugal can help me with completing the history of this rare twostroke car? I would like to search the registor of cars of the early 50's downtown Lissabon but that is ofcourse difficult to realise. Thanks for any little information or old photos or stories, all is more than welcome!

REWARD OFFERED FOR EXACT INFO

I’m I want to know when and where it was made and by what co. This model doesn’t have any markings on it. There is a brand name on the tires – MALOJA – but this co no longer exists. I have this little chassis model in my collection for ages and till now there was nobody who could give me exact info. As far as I know it was made in Switzerland but the person I bought it from discovered it on a flea market in Austria. Maybe it’s some kind of prototype / scale model / patent model from Steyr? Thanks for your help!

Does anyone out there in classic car land have an idea from what car this dasboard could be? All meters are made by Jeager and the dash itself is made from somekind of bakelite.
Thanks!

Greetings,

I'm hoping someone can help me locate the current owner of this car - a 1950 Mercedes 170S Cabriolet that came to the states in 1957 and was sold in Niagara Falls in 1958.  Past owner has some old photos and history to present to the present owner.

Thanks, David Kerr

What happened to this crazy rocket?

DSCN6063Seen at Hershey 2003 this Ford (?) based Special.  Possibly built from a wingtip  fuel tank. We lost the details (written on the board behind the car...) and would love to hear what became of this far out V8 insect.  JB

Who built this MGA 'Superamerica' ?

MGA-Special-3Frank Cornell sends this photograph of a special bodied MGA that was taken in the paddock area at Thompson Raceway, Connecticut USA in August 1962. I don't know who made this exiting Coupe, but the owner must have taken a long hard look a the Ferrari Superamerica! Who can tell more about this fast looking coupe? Does it still exist?
