I am presenting here a very rare German postcard. The title written on the back is " The Kaiser visit in Curtea de Arges; the Kaiser is leaving the train station". Yes it is a WWI picture. In November-December 1916 offensive, the Triple Alliance occupied half of the Romanian kingdom. The German emperor Wilhelm II visits the new occupied territories in the summer of 1917 and also visits the German troops which were getting ready for the new summer offensive. Here his majety is in the small town of Curtea de Arges in Romania, important for its history, tradition and its monastery, where the first King of Romania, Charles I, was burried. The question is -of course- the car's make and model. Author: Colin Balanescu Friday, 01 February 2013
