The Leersum Mystery (UPDATE III: Lancia or Delahaye or Hotchkiss ? )

The Leersum Mystery (UPDATE III: Lancia or Delahaye or Hotchkiss ? )

Our jury member Frans Vrijaldenhoven is an expert on Dutch coach builders. And there have been many of them, some even well-known internationally like Pennock or Schutter & van Bakel. But even Frans sometimes finds a picture that has him quite baffled. For instance this one of a creation by a small company called “van Leersum” who had their premises in the Dutch town Hilversum. During the 1930s they made this rather over-sized six-window sedan with cloth sliding roof that was mounted on an unknown chassis. It was roadworthy as it had been given the Dutch license plate G-28722. Now Frans wonders on what chassis this body was built and if the car still exists somewhere? Do you recognize this car or do you know anyone of the people surrounding it, then please tell us!

Update III comes from Daniel Herrero: "Not sure but as for Delahaye, the radiator shape (horseshoe and central chrome bar) might be also the one of an Hotchkiss."
Update II by Stuart Penketh: “The front grille and hood or the car look very much Delahaye of which they bodied several chassis in 1946. But this is nothing like their usual Delahaye style. However they were more into ambulances and hearses.
Update I by John Baker who wonders if this might be a Lancia Astura as many were coachbuilt.
