About quiz 240: 1909 Jackson Model H

Last week's quiz car was not a Fuller nor a Cartercar, but those who came up with these makes were very close. We gave away a lot of clues and many of you weren’t fooled by our photoshopping and named the right make: the Jackson, founded by two businessmen Charles Lewis and George Mathews (who also made the Fuller) and engineer Byron J. Carter. Correct answers came in from Gaurav Sawant, Hugh Nutting, David Coco, Robb Stewart, G.C.M. Stol and jury member Radu Comsa. But we also did ask you to name the Model and Year and only one of those mentioned above came up with the goods: Robb Stewart. His answer says it all: “This is a 1909 Jackson, model H, built in Jackson, Michigan. Seeming archaic at first glance with full elliptic springs all around, it is actually a very well built car. Jackson founder Byron Carter went on to make the more famous "Cartercar". Congratulations Robb! See you all next week! (photos courtesy Mike West).
