About Quiz # 249:
1941 Peugeot VLV

We expected to receive of lot of answers on last week’s quiz and we were right. As this was a Peugeot that was also shown at Rétromobile, it was not a surprise that a lot of mails came from France. Many of you coughed up the correct answers to our questions, which made our judging task most difficult. Therefore we decided that just mentioning Peugeot VLV was not enough, in full it should be ”Voiture Legère de Ville” or light city car. This still left us with several correct answers but in the end we decided that Mario Montanaro deserved the PreWarCar T-shirt, not only for mentioning that the Peugeot is not a three-wheeler, but has four wheels; for recognizing our quiz car as the one displayed in the Peugeot museum in Sochaux; and that we had modified the photo, because on the side it was marked "POSTES". Congratulations Mario with your second win. See READ MORE for the full list of those who came up with the correct answers. Accidentally this is one of the many Peugeots of which the Peugeot museum has decided that it is surplus to their requirement. On June 14 it will be offered by Artucial at a special Peugeot auction. They are still looking for more entries, so if you have an interesting Peugeot to sell, don’t hesitate to contact the car department of Artcurial or contact Mr. Francois Melcion +33(0)611837894 / e-mail: fmelcion@artcurial.com
