This elegant Alvis Speed 20 Vanden Plas Tourer arrived into my hands a couple of years ago after the death of a Californian friend Alvis collector who collected Vanden Plas Alvis'. At that time this SC Speed 20 Tourer was quite an unusual sportscar apparently well known in the Californian vintage car scene. Two succesive long-term Californian owners had enjoyed this handsome Alvis Tourer... being propulsed by a Jaguar 3,4 liter 6 cylinder engine ! Thanks to our vast experience servicing and restoring Alvis Speed cars during the last 20 years we still had in a corner of our workshop a correct Speed 20 SC engine, which, after a complete rebuild, was a perfect fit for this specific Speed 20 SC Tourer. Although this whole 'back to the roots' operation is nearly finished, the actual owner has asked us to offer his Speed 20 for sale on the market.
