Great film restoration of this clip! It's wonderful to see the old racers in action. We need more of these done.

I found this amongst some photos purportedly of racing on the Rambouillet Circuit C1906!
The car is identified as a Corre-La Licorne. It appears to be very similar (if not the same car) as the car carrying No.4 that I mentioned in my previous comment. It also carries the same number.
IF the second car illustrated in the scene on the cigarette case (NOT in this photo!) is meant to be a Sizaire & Naudin, then it would appear to be more representative of the 1906 Rambouillet car than those of 1907/8.
This would fit with the supposed date of this photo, if correct, but not with the date for the last frames of the film.
Any thoughts anyone?

I looked at this with great interest.

At the begining of January I sent PreWarCar a photo of a cigarette case that I had been given. Inserted into it is an embossed circular copper panel on which is a view of a 'Coupe de Voiturettes' from (I thought) around 1907/8.
I was trying to establish which event the case celebrated and where it took place.
In the film footage, at around 7'37", in the bottom right-hand corner of the frame is a car that appears to be very similar to that 'leading the race' in the scene on the cigarette case.
The second car in the panel seems to be a Sizaire & Naudin!
Just wondering. 1908 Coupe de Voiturettes? Any comments?

Ariejan made a detailed list several years ago of all the cars which are (shortly) visible in these images. Among the makes in the 1907 race: Grégoire, Demeester, Sizaire & Naudin, Stimula, Fouillaron, Le Métais, Lacoste & Battmann, and Delage. In the 1908 stills one can detect cars of Le Métais, Sizaire & Naudin, Lion-Peugeot, Alcyon, and Delage.

Translation : The comment by Ariejan Bos is correct: the editing of this clip is a curious mixture of the Coupe des buggies of 1907, on the Rambouillet circuit, and that of 1908, on the Compiègne circuit. Remarkable where the Sizaire & Naudin, who won the 2 tests, are particularly present, static and dynamic.

Really remarkable! Not just the cars but the people too. The bakers boy, the men in bowler hats, the old lady at her gate. Wonderful

I had analyzed that film already two years ago and it appears to be a mix of the Coupe des Voiturettes of both 1907 and 1908. It starts with 1908, at 20" (Le départ) it continues with 1907; at 4'37" it switches to 1908; at 6'16" to 1907 again and finally at 7'23" it ends with 1908. This makes it complex and moreover an example of (perhaps unintended) history manipulation. And also it stresses the importance of always checking the original sources!
