Rallye des Vieux Pistons: A Celebration of Vintage Cars in the Loire Valley – May 24–25, 2025

On May 24th and 25th, 2025, Gilbert Warning and Antoine Pilette, together with the association Les Amis du Château de Vaujours, will host the first edition of the Rallye des Vieux Pistons—a unique vintage car rally and scenic tour through the Loire Valley. This event is dedicated to automobiles built before 1905, as well as single- and twin-cylinder cars manufactured up to 1914.

We are thrilled to welcome 25 teams, primarily featuring pre-1905 vehicles, with participants hailing from nine different countries. What a delight to see so many rare and historic automobiles gathered for the inaugural edition of this exceptional rally!

Saturday, May 24th

• The rally kicks off from the Domaine de la Trigalière in Ambillou. Participants will depart between 9:00 and 10:00 a.m., heading toward the Château de Vaujours in Château-la-Vallière, passing through Courcelles-de-Touraine.
• At 10:30 a.m., the cars continue to the Château de Marcilly-sur-Maulne for lunch, via the town centers of Saint-Laurent-de-Lin and Lublé.
• In the afternoon, they’ll proceed to the Château d’Hodebert in Saint-Paterne-Racan for a snack break. These centenarian cars will cover 20 km between 2:00 p.m. and 4:00 p.m., passing through Braye-sur-Maulne and Villiers-au-Bouin.
• The day concludes with a return to the Domaine de la Trigalière, arriving around 5:30 p.m. via Saint-Paterne-Racan and Sonzay.
• At the end of the day, the cars will be on public display, offering a rare opportunity to admire these exceptional machines up close.

Sunday, May 25th

• The rally resumes in Semblançay, passing through Sonzay and the hamlet of Serrain between 10:00 a.m. and noon. The public is invited to view the vehicles on display in the town hall garden during lunchtime.
• This convivial meal marks the official end of the Rallye des Vieux Pistons. In the afternoon, participants will make their way back to Ambillou, passing through the village of Pernay.
