It was a very cold morning as we drove to the most important city of the Champagne district in northern France, but it was not the tempting sparkling wine which was the main reason for our trip to Reims. Instead, it was the 35th Salon Champenois du Véhicule de Collection, or simply put, the Reims Autojumble, as most will know it.
While Beaulieu struggles with post-Brexit and post-Covid challenges, Reims is in a safer position and instead has challenges with the large number of visitors, which meant lots of queueing and crowded aisles.
The stalls definitely did not disappoint. The array of parts which had emerged from various garages was impressive, from brass lamps to fuel tanks and a large assortment of early motorbikes to an entire aeroplane for restoration. Taking place both indoors and outdoors, it had everything.
Our photographer found his way through the crowds and captured the atmosphere. Enjoy!
