A front wheel drive mystery?

We received this photo from Peter Skofic, who is curious to know more about the car: "At the first glance the car looks like Citroen but what puzzles me at this particular car is the front suspension, especially on its left side which makes me thinking about front wheel drive. This photo was made in Maribor (Slovenia) in 1960 at the ceremony when fresh students got "baptized". The picture was taken by my uncle Danilo Skofic who was a professional photographer. At that time I was only 8 years old and I did not participate at this rally/ceremony. I am enclosing herewith some additional pictures from the same period too. Four of them show Tatra 11 (or 12?) at the same occasion (see also a beautiful DKW Schellaster in back of one of the photos!), and the fifth one shows a car of three French students (Citroen?) who travelled from France to Istanbul and stopped in Maribor to make a short brake. At the right side of this car there is parked Peugeot 404 (this I know for sure, since I have had a same car :-)

Editor: We are first of all not completely convinced that the car is a Front Wheel drive. But well, our readers can probably help you!

"1924" marked the beginning for CHRYSLER, which is certainly very late for a new marque in the United States.
Generally speaking(or writing), the Chrysler used an abundance of shiny stuff, and was readily and differentially noticeable in the 1930's by dominant splits of both the radiator shell/grill and windshield, giving a bit of a militaristic look.
None of these characteristics are evident in today's feature photograph.

Going by the length of the bonnet louvers and the shape of the head lights, it's a 1926-7 Chrysler Model 60, their light six.

I agree, this car does not appear to be front wheel drive, in my opinion it has all the appearances of an American vehicle. The pressings in the mud wings for example and the way the wind screen spreads out from the base, it looks to me to be nearer to a Chrysler than a Citroen. If I had to bet on it I would say that is what it is. However I'm always prepared to proved wrong.

Gentlemen, pay close attention, to find ultimate health and prosperity(which were becoming very difficult commodities to find in "1939").

On second thought, it is a 1925 rather than '24 because of the moulding on the driver's door.

I don't see any front-drive mechanism. I see steering knuckles but more important are some droopy hoses, which mean hydraulic brakes. I believe the car is an early Chrysler, likely a 1926 G-70, or perhaps a 1927 Series 50.

Not front wheel drive, it's a 1924/26 Chrysler and the F89 Schnellaster is probably one of the many produced in Yugoslavia by Slovenian Moto Montaža
