Over the past 20 years of PreWarCar.com’s existence, we have shown you many different photos related to this festive fourth Thursday of November — today is Thanksgiving!
We all know the obvious vintage postcard of a turkey driving a car and we have already seen the pretty Judy Garland in a Chrysler with a sign on the windscreen saying 'Take a serviceman home for Thanksgiving dinner'. Earlier this month, we saw the American actress polishing her Packard and in 2020 we showed two images of a group of four men who are about to set off from West Duluth, Minnesota to the White House in Washington to hand over two turkeys to President Herbert Hoover. Something quite different was the engine hoist with the turkey hanging over a pan — Turkey Day with an automotive touch. Just for a change.
But the picture here is actually also very Thanksgiving-like. It was taken around 1937 in Williams Country, North Dakota. We see an old Ford (that was) used as a turkey roost. The rest of the story you can probably fill in yourself…

Happy Thanksgiving Day everyone!
