On 23 and 24 April 2022, the eleventh BeForty Rally will be held in the Netherlands. It is an international rally for car lovers under the age of 40, driving cars with a manufacturing date before 1940.
Recent events have mainly had participants from Belgian, French, British, German and Dutch backgrounds. Even though this group looks forward to seeing each other again, the main goal is to gather as many young petrolheads as possible and be able to welcome newcomers with great enthusiasm!
Given the fact that the aim of this rally is to encourage young people to drive classic cars, we strive to keep it as accessible as possible because, in the end, having fun and enjoying the rides in the old-timers is what it is all about.
Bright and early (09:00) on Saturday 23 April 2022, the rally will start at the Van der Valk De Bilt hotel. This is also where the participants will stay that night. Along the route, the drivers will be able to take in all the beauty that the Utrechtse Heuvelrug National Park and the Veluwe has to offer. At the Veluwe we'll stop for a warm cup of coffee. Once all the spectacular scenery of the forests, towns and cities and lakes have been left behind, a BBQ will be waiting for is in Bert Degenaar's stunning garden in Oud Zuilen.
Part of what makes the BeForty Rally so special is that relatives and close friends jump in to make it happen. The lunches, for example, are completely taken care of by the parents, who are also there to make sure the towing rig is manned (just in case). Grandma will hand out (and sponsor) the typical Dutch ‘stroopwafels’ and Bert Degenaar will kindly open his garden to us. Our partners will make sure that every participant can warm their hands on a cup of coffee.
After lunch we will head back to the heart of the Netherlands. During the course of the day, a couple of competitive skill tests will make sure that the teams stay sharp, and some cosy surprise stops will give them a chance to reflect on an unforgettable weekend.
At around 18:30 the group will leave for a tasty canal-side dinner in the centre of Utrecht. History teaches us that several participants seem to have trouble finding their way back to the hotel and often end up in one or multiple clubs...
On Sunday morning the cars will set off at a reasonable time to finish the lovely weekend. After the somewhat mandatory coffee-stop, we will enjoy a short drive to the second and last lunch and prize-giving. It will then be time to say goodbye until the next time.
The cost for the weekend is €320 per team (one car with one driver and co-driver). The registration is now open and there is space for 30 teams. Click here to register. Be quick, because full means full!
