Carrosserie Joseph Figoni

Joseph Figoni worked closely with Etienne Bunau-Varilla and the Bugatti sales network in Paris. From 1925 onwards, a substantial number of T23, T30, T38 and T44 models received Figoni bodies.

Peter Larsen will soon be publishing Volume 1 of a series of books dedicated to the life and work of Joseph Figoni. The first is about Figoni-bodied Alfa Romeos and the next, which is currently being written, will be about Bugatti.

Enclosed is a copy of the October 1925 issue of Auto-Carrosserie. It shows a T23 with a Figoni Surbaissé body built according to Bunau-Varilla patents. It is one of the earliest Figonis of which a photo exists – but the chassis number is unknown.
