The Lafitte car was an unconventional light car powered by a 3-cylinder radial engine of 736cc capacity, enlarged in its last year to 895cc. The Lafitte car had a system of friction drive in which the whole engine swiveled to give variable ratio. When the friction discs met face to face, a clutch was formed which gave the Lafitte car a direct drive ‘top gear’. With a two-seater fabric body, the English price of the Lafitte car was only £100 in 1926.
