Acme Motor Car Co, Reading, Pa.
Acme was an outgrown of the Reber Manufacturing Co which made the Reber car. The Acme was available in at least nine different models during its existence. Early models had 2- or 4-cylinder engines. Later cars were much larger, with 6-cylinder engines and ball-bearing transmission; they cost $3.000-5.000. The car was sold with an optimistic ‘perpetual guarantee’.
The car was a short-lived high-wheel motor buggy.
This firm was organized to manufacture touring cars, taxicabs and commercial vehicles with bodies built in Hamilton and mechanical parts imported from the United States. A 30hp touring car was made.
