Twenty-seven Autocar cars were made in 1900, by which date the Autocar company had moved to their new Ardmore factory, and in 1901 there appeared a 3½hp 2-cylinder Autocar with shaft drive, the first multi-cylinder shaft-driven car in America. By 1905 large 2- and 4-cylinder Autocars were being made with gear change, clutch, spark and throttle all controlled from the steering column. Autocar trucks were introduced in 1907, and after 1911 became the only products of the firm. Autocar still makes trucks.
