The Batten was a stark sports car based on a cut-down Ford V8 chassis of the 1932/1933 period with the later V8 engine boosted to give 97bhp. With a very simple two-seater body the overall weight was only 2184lb which gave excellent acceleration, and a maximum speed of 120mph. Most Battens used Ford-Type suspension, but one of two were made with independent front syspension. The price of a Batten for sale was £325. From 1936 a Batten four-seater sports and Batten drophead coupé were also offered.
