The Marot Gardon company were mainly known for motor tricycles and quads which they made from 1898, but in 1899 Marot Gardon announced a voiturette with 3hp engine and 3-speed gearbox. The following year the engine of the Marot Gardon car was increased to a 4½hp. For 1901 two Marot Gardon car-models were made: a two-seater with a front-mounted horizontal 6hp engine driving the rear axle by chain, and a racing voiturette with a rear-mounted 7hp Soncin vertical engine, geared directly to the rear axle.
