The Surrey car was an assembled light car that utilized some Ford Model T parts, including the front axle and steering. The Surrey car was powered originally by a 1½-litre 4-cylinder Coventry-Simplex engine. There was a choice of transmission on the Surrey car, either by friction disc and chain to a solid rear axle, or else through a Meadows 3-speed gearbox to live axle. Electric starting and lighting were optional extras on the Surrey car as late as 1923, by which time friction drive had been discarded. Later Surrey cars had V-radiators and Meadows engines of 9.8hp and 11.8hp, and there was even a sv six, the 18.2hp New Victory Six Surrey car.
