Having a chauffeur drive you is less common in 2022 than it was when this photo was taken. The lady sits in the back and the driver makes sure she arrives at the mansion safe and sound. The car is merely a tool to get her from A to B. But what if the girl is a bit cheeky and prefers to do it another way? She loves cars on an emotional level and likes to choose the cars she buys.

 

SS Jaguar

 

The woman in the picture looks very confident and strong and might be in her element with the car. She did not want the standard Rolls as she prefers an SS. However, she still wants to be driven around and feel the comfort of the car. In the end, the SS Jaguar is "the finest car of its class in the world", or at least, it was...

When I got married I had three black Jaguar Mk IVs, circa 1948 to drive away in, similar but later of course
than the beautiful SS pictured.

The mans hat badge is long - and like the ones worn by bus/train conductors, and not by chauffeurs. Maybe the message was this car is so luxurious you will need a conductor.
Of course entering from the pavement side is safer and cleaner especially if your car doesn't have a centre gear stick.
