Founded in June 1966, the Delahaye Club is celebrating six decades of dedication to preserving and promoting one of France’s great automotive marques.
Created by Jean-Pierre Bernard, Jacques Potherat, Serge Pozzoli and Pierre Bardinon, the Club set itself a clear mission from the outset: to bring enthusiasts together, safeguard Delahaye’s technical and historical heritage, and uphold the spirit of excellence that shaped the brand.
Two major figures in automotive history, Eugène Chaboud and Charles Pozzi—both of whom raced Delahayes—honoured the Club by successively accepting the title of Honorary President. Their involvement forged a strong link between Delahaye’s sporting legacy and the collector community.
Since 1966, the Delahaye Club has welcomed nearly 1,300 members and today counts around 230 active members in France and abroad. Thanks to extensive archival work and detailed registries, nearly 2,500 Delahaye automobiles—across all models—have been identified and documented, contributing to their preservation and appreciation. The Club thus stands as a guarantor of the authenticity of surviving vehicles.
Publications, technical archives, gatherings, restoration guidance and, of course, rallies continue to energise an active and passionate community, all in a spirit of camaraderie.
To mark its 60th anniversary, the Delahaye Club will take part in several major events:
The Delahaye marque itself endured for 60 years—an exceptional lifespan for a French manufacturer of its era.
Sixty years later, the Club has in turn reached this milestone, extending the story and passing on a legacy that collectors continue to keep alive.
“Celebrating the Delahaye Club’s 60th anniversary means celebrating all those who kept the flame burning: collectors, restorers, historians and the Club’s volunteers. Our mission is to unite every enthusiast and be the Club for ALL Delahayes!” — Patrick Lallet, Chairman
