GMU 3 - any and all information is appreciated!

A reader that is looking for a Rolls-Royce turns to you, fellow-reader, hoping to find this particular PreWarCar. The car in question is a 20/25 of 1932-vintage wearing a shooting brake ‘woody’ body when it was last seen in public. This was some sixteen years ago, back in June 2003, when it was sold at Bonhams’ Rockingham Castle sale (see here).

Have you seen this Rolls-Royce?

Now, with Bonhams’ little write-up we’re just one click away from the chassis number GMU 3 and last known registration VH 4591, but we also learnt that the car was originally bodied by coachbuilder Rippon Brothers as a limousine. This while it was later supposedly shortened - in order to receive its woody body? Furthermore, it is believed to have received a Bentley 4¼-litre engine and instruments while at some stage Frank Dale & Stepsons had a go with it. Last but not least we also managed to find a picture of it in its original Rippon Bros configuration (the black & white picture attached) since it is not unthinkable that it was restored to its original guise after all.

Surely this information has to be enough to track GMU 3 down!

Comment below or contact the inquirer directly via the "wanted" advert if you have any information about this Rolls-Royce and its whereabouts. Any and all information is appreciated!
