Identification of part

Letter to the editor

Good morning,

I have inherited a garage full of parts, I’ve been doing some research on one particular part and am having trouble identifying it. From what I was told it may belong to a tractor or Model T,  the only identifying marks are as pictured, H No. 1  283670  Stromberg Motor Devices Chicago USA Patented

6-20-05- 2-19-07 Others pending. Can you please help me with the identification? Thank you in advance for any info!
