Invite a friend and spread the passion!

The group of hardcore Pre-War Car enthusiasts is small, even though they are all over the world. When you are “in this world”, and you talk to one another, you will soon find out that everyone knows each other directly or indirectly. Or at least the most prominent and important individuals, (private) collectors, dealers, historians, reporters, etc.. This has of course two sides, it either works in your favour but it can also be a disadvantage.

So little youngsters

Then we also have the problem of the ageing of the generation. Which means that the group of true enthusiasts keeps getting smaller. In addition to this, there are so few youngsters involved in the Pre-War Car world. The users of PreWarCar.com and PostWarClassic.com know that we pay a lot of attention to this, hoping to get more youngsters involved and excited.

But what can you do to support us in this? The answer to this question you see in the photograph and is actually quite simple. Invite a friend! We can get more people enthusiastic by introducing them to this “world”. So why not ask your friend(s) to join you for a drive. Let them get the feeling! A tip from our side; ask them when the weather is good (your friend(s) probably enjoy the driving a lot more when they do not get soaking wet).

Grease everywhere...

Introduce them to the grease everywhere. The fact you start (most cars) with a crank handle comes for a lot of people as a bit of a shock that not everything goes right the first time… I am pretty sure you can think of a lot more. Let them get the wind through their hair. Let them experience freedom, but most of all the fun! Just like the five friends we see here, who seem to have a good time with their 1911 Cadillac.

Spread the passion!

With the RVCCB ( Royal Veteran Car Club Belgium) we organise on May 5th in Rocroi , near the Belgian/Ffrench border (where there are many litle roads for pleasant driving) a day called " Tout de Manivelle" or " Crancking " or so . Our members will come with their Prewar car and will take 'vistors' on board for 10, 20 or 30 km depending on the possibilities of the car. We come in contact with visitors through a mailing we did with the BFOV ( Belgian Federation for Oldtimer Vehicles) . The mail was sent to all contacts of the federation, and these contacts are essentially members of postwar and Classic car clubs. Tthese persons have an intrest in prewarcars, but did not yet feel what it really is. We offer the possibility of a ride and to take a light lunch with the members so as to talk and chat about…. yes prewar driving !
We shaal see what will be the results...Up to now there are more visitors than members coming in the prewarcar. Looks good.

As to youngsters, we try to motivate the sons and daughters of our members to start with…. and hope they will talk ...and talk... and talk... and invite !
