Looking for information on LX-4411 – a Crossley with my grandmother in the passenger seat

Brenda found this beautiful photo amongst her parents' collection of photographs. The lady in the passenger seat is in all likelihood her grandmother. The PreWarCar we see is a Crossley – registration LX-4411.

She wrote us “I would be very interested to know if in fact it was the property of my grandfather. His name was Frederick West and he lived in Ascot in Berkshire. I'm afraid I do not have an address. He owned a butcher's shop called F.A. West & Sons at 51 West Green Road, Tottenham, N.15. I would love to know the previous history of this motor car and appreciate your interest.”

Then we received another message from Brenda “If it helps a little more, I have been doing some family research and I have a possible, but, by no means certain, previous owner. My father’s stepsister married Gabriel Ferreol Defago in 1924. He was a builder/property developer in the Surrey area. I think he may have been rich enough to buy such a splendid car, but I am only guessing. If his name together with the picture should jog anyone’s memory, that would be wonderful.”

Who can help us? Firstly by telling us more about LX-4411. Secondly, with information on the history and/or (previous) owners of the Crossley car. And maybe if this PreWarCar is even still around. Any information would be highly appreciated.
