Our friends at The Automobile magazine have recently relocated to new offices, and as a result they are sadly having to move on some of their Oily Rag projects to free up space.

1908 Franklin Model G

Some 12 vehicles from the reserve collection will be sold at the next Brightwells online auction, which ends on 5th August. Of these, half are pre-war and should all be of interest to visitors to this website. The oldest of these is a 1908 Franklin Model G, an unusual air-cooled American car which is believed to have been off the road since 1910 and consequently has all its original interior, paint and fittings. This remarkable wooden-chassied, aluminium-bodied motor car is almost certainly unique in the UK and possibly Europe.

1920 Ford Model T

On more familiar ground is the 1920 Ford Model T, but this one has unique English saloon coachwork by Ball & Co of Birmingham. This, too, is cosmetically untouched right down to the luxurious buttoned-corduroy interior.

1921 Chenard Walcker TT

For the Francophiles among you, how about the 1921 Chenard et Walcker TT saloon? This one still has the factory-fitted seat covers included, which have done a fine job of preserving the cloth upholstery.
