Pebble Beach livestream: enjoy the glamour of the Concours d'Elegance from the comfort of home

The Pebble Beach Concours d'Elegance is 74 years old now, but it's still as popular as ever, with several dozen of the world's finest cars taking to the carefully-tended lawns of the Pebble Beach Golf Links, on California's Pacific coast, this weekend. The concours never fails to bring together outstanding examples of exotic coachwork from the pre-war and post-war periods, and this year is no exception.

The classes of the greatest interest to us are Packard 125th Anniversary and Maserati. Packard has a particularly strong association with the Pebble Beach Concours d'Elegance, as its products have claimed the Best of Show honours on four occasions. With the marque having existed from 1899 until 1958, when it fizzled out after an unhappy merger with Studebaker, this year's concours will be commemorating it with a special class for early models, from some of the first single-cylinders to a 1915 Dominant Six, plus a curated display of variations from the 1930 734 Speedster Series. Meanwhile, in the Maserati class, we expect to see some lusty pre-war racing cars: the Maserati brothers' first cars of 1926 were built expressly for Grand Prix racing, and road-going cars were not introduced until 1947.

In addition to all that, which car will take away the coveted Best of Show trophy?

If you can't make it to California yourself, you can soak up some of the atmosphere by watching the livestream here.
